What Are the Benefits of Having a Dedicated Domain?
With a dedicated sending domain, you can send emails that appear to be coming from your brand and control your sender reputation more effectively. Dedicated sending domains can be created by any company.
Reducing the likelihood of emails going to spam folders.
About generating domain name systems (DNS) with Plexins
Generating DNS records is a key step in connecting to a dedicated sending domain. To generate DNS records, you need to know the following information. Let's look at an example to help you get up to speed:
Typically, if a company (brand) named Hello Plexins, who purchased the domain helloplexins.com from a domain name service provider, would set the sending domain to send.helloplexins.com, then the company's final sending email address could be Tommy@send.helloplexins.com.
Root domain
This is the domain that you purchased or registered with a domain registrar, and it reflects your brand's website domain. You may also have email addresses that reflect this domain.
Dedicated sending domain
Plexins recommends that you use a subdomain for email. For example, if your root domain is helloplexins.com, you can customize the subdomain by choosing: send, market, office, etc. If you decide to use "send," then the intended domain will be "send.helloplexins.com." Usually, the most common subdomain name is "Send."
- It's important to note that the dedicated sending domain must have a unique, unused subdomain so not to interfere with any external email configurations on your root domain.
- You can use any subdomain that is not already in use. Once records are generated, the Root Domain and Sending Domain fields will become unsuitable in the app. However, if, for some reason, you need to edit these thereafter, please contact our Support Team to assist with updating these records.
The tutorial for setting up a dedicated sending domain
1. Go to Settings, click Mail, Input the subdomain that you want in Plexins;

2. and then you will see Plexins generates 3 CNAME records based on the DNS configuration as follows; please note that while getting setup is available to all users, only those with Owner, Admin, Manager, and Campaign Coordinator privileges can make changes;

3. Update your DNS records
The next step of the process requires you to complete tasks outside of Plexins. You will need to apply your new DNS records, which were generated in Plexins, to your domain. Please note that these changes must be made on your company's DNS provider's platform. The following steps may also need to be discussed with your IT team.
Not all domain registration services allow you to directly edit all DNS records. If you cannot update the records, contact your DNS provider for information on how to update them.
3.1 Navigate to your DNS provider; for instance:
3.2 Then Copy and paste the copied text
3.3 Update your DNS records
3.4 After the configuration is complete, click "Verify" in Plexins;
3.5 You can enter your custom email address after successful verification. (The domain suffix needs to be the same as the verified domain name)
Troubleshooting error messages
An error message will appear if the domain cannot be applied, directing you to try again. To diagnose the issue, we recommend using a free, online DNS record checker to review your dedicated sending domain. The following services provide this quick check:
